The fourth panel discussion – “Psychoanalysis and New Technologies”

The last panel discussion of the cycle “Psychoanalysis of Our Time”, organized by the Psychoanalytical Society of Serbia, on the topic of “Psychoanalysis and New Technologies” will be held on June 19, 2015, at 7 p.m. in the Large Hall of the Belgrade City Library.

The panel will address the issues of the influence of modern technology on man’s inner world, problems of mental development, formation of symbolic thinking, leaving room for “being alone”, the meaning of perception, images and presentations of ourselves that we communicate to others as well as of predominantly thinking about self-presentation instead of enjoying real life.

In addition, the panel discussion will deal with the psychological meaning of gadgets, dynamics of interpersonal relationships and the possibilities that modern technologies provide for new forms of psychotherapeutic interventions.

Furthermore, speakers will discuss possible misuse of modern technologies and addiction to them, with special reference to disorders in young people and the psychoanalytic understanding of these disorders and interventions.

Vojislav Ćurčić, the PSS psychoanalyst, Marina Ivanović, the PSS psychoanalyst and Danijela Galović, the PSS candidate, will take part in the panel discussion. The PSS training psychoanalyst Vesna Brzev-Ćurčić will moderate the panel.

The panel discussion will take place in the Large Hall – Reading Room of the Arts Department , on Friday, June 19, 2015, at 7 p.m.
