A movie screen as a mirror of the inner world

On Friday, June 10, 2016, at 7 p.m, at the Belgrade City Library, Knez Mihailova 56/II, the Psychoanalytical Society of Serbia organizes the fourth panel discussion as part of the cycle “Sigmund Freud and Leonardo da Vinci: a Meeting of Psychoanalysis and Art”, titled:

A MOVIE SCREEN AS A MIRROR OF THE INNER WORLD

The concurrent development of cinematic art and psychoanalysis has led to mutual curiosity and attraction. Psychoanalysis and psychoanalysts have been a decades-long inspiration to cinematic art and, as such, have been portrayed in various genres – from comedy through drama and fantasy to thrillers. Regardless of whether psychoanalysis or a psychoanalyst actually appears in a movie or not, the views, contemplations and fantasies of a screenwriter and a director regarding the psychological are always present. This is where the space is made for psychoanalysis and its constant striving for understanding.

How cinematic art sees psychoanalysis and how a psychoanalyst analyzes a film will be discussed by the lecturers of the fourth panel discussion of the Psychoanalytical Society of Serbia:

Srdan Golubović, a director
Milica Martinović, a psychoanalyst
Sandra Simić, a psychoanalyst
