After the pause caused by the pandemic, the harmonious multi-year cooperation with the Belgrade City Library continued yesterday. This time the guest was Sotiris Manolopoulos, a training psychoanalyst and supervisor of the Greek and Canadian psychoanalytic societies. He is also a child and adolescent training psychoanalyst. Manolopoulos is the Director of the Training Committee and past President of the Greek Society.

The extremely interesting and provocative topic attracted colleagues and educated laymen who listened to the lecture with great attention. The discussion was unusually lively and fruitful and gave a special experience to the whole evening. Manolopoulos really managed to answer all questions, both those related to Greek tragedians and Greek poetry and psychoanalytical interpretations of these works, and to exchange thoughts with an audience that was spontaneous, curious, open and free. It was a pleasure to attend such an original and inspiring exchange, with a great lecturer and an excellent connoisseur of psychoanalytic theory, a practitioner and a connoisseur of the cultural heritage of his people.

When asked to allow us to put his lecture “Suppliants” on our website, Sotiris Manolopoulos replied that it was a great honor and a great pleasure for him.
