PROJECT “ON VIOLENCE” November 18th, 2023.

On November the 18th 2023, the International Conference “Why Violence” was held, supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum from Belgrade. The Conference attracted a large number of psychotherapists from various modalities, as well as those interested in this field.

Elisabeth Skale and Thomas Jung from Austria and Valentina Lessenska from Bulgaria participated in the Conference as guests from other societies. Among the psychoanalysts from PDS, Aleksandar Kontić, Nina Popadić, Jasminka Šuljagić, Oliver Vidojević and Danijela Galović also took part in the Conference. All presentations were followed by lively discussions and interactive exchange of opinions.

The Conference was followed by the hosting of the special exhibition of the Sigmund Freud Museum from Vienna “Narrating Violence. A Comic Exhibition”. The Exhibition was supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum from Belgrade and The City of Vienna. The exhibition was opened in the presence of His Excellency the Ambassador of Austria Christian Ebner and the director of the Austrian Cultural Forum Amadeus Faltheiner. Representatives of the City of Vienna Office in Belgrade, Cvijeta Radovic and Jelena Colic, were also present. The exhibition was opened by the President of the PDS, Marija Vezmar, and then by the curators of the Sigmund Freud Museum, Daniela Finci and Marina Rauchenbacher, who also provided a guided tour through the exhibition. The exhibition is open for visitors until 02.12.2023.

The Project was designed by members of the Program Committee: Aleksandar Kontić, as President, Marija Vezmar and Nina Popadić and implemented by members of Organizing Committee: Nataša Đerković Lukač, as President, Ana Gvozdić, Anka Marjanović Radonjić, Darja Jokić, Emilija Erić and Ksenija Šešlija.

Psychoanalytical Society of Serbia is very glad to announce that the previous publication “Time Track” will be in the collection of the Sigmund Freud Museum in Vienna.
